Estimated and Predictive ETAs
Estimated and predictive ETAs assist in planning and cost estimation, summing up costs based on distance traveled and driver's hourly rate for completing the entire run.
To get the best results, an average kilometre cost can be assigned to a vehicle profile, and the driver's hourly rate is specified on the driver profile.
One method to determine the average kilometre cost is by calculating the average number of kilometres each vehicle type achieves per full tank of fuel.
For the vehicle:
Go to "Vehicles" section, select a vehicle and enter the average cost on the "Rate per km" field.
The example below is taken from a vehicle that has an average fuel consumption of 15.0L/100km with diesel fuel price at 209.9 cents. Cost per km is $0.31.
For the driver:
Go to "Drivers" section, select a driver and specify the driver's hourly wage on the "Rate per hour" field.
Once a cost per kilometre and driver's hourly rate have been established, the system will calculate the total cost by multiplying the driver's hourly rate by the time it will take to complete the entire run, and then incorporate the cost per kilometre based on the estimated distance.
The 'Route Cost' is displayed along with the 'Route Distance' and 'Route Time' on the Manifest Order View.
As well as on the manifest order sequence.
This new feature provides valuable insights into cost estimation along with estimated time and distance.
